Portraits & Boudoir

Portraits made in cinematic light.

Portrait, boudoir and lifestyle sessions for individuals, couples and creatives — in studio, on location across Europe and inside the abandoned palaces and forgotten interiors I've spent years finding.

The Session

What a portrait session feels like.

A portrait session with me is two things at once: a conversation and an image. I shoot with a cinematic eye, but I direct gently, the way a film director works with an actor on a quiet day.
We talk about what you want to feel when you see the final frames, then we find the light and let it do the work.
Sessions happen in a studio (I rent one for the occasion), in your space, or out in the city.. Boudoir sessions are intimate and never rushed; you'll feel held the entire time.
There is also a third option, the one I'm best known for. Over the years I've built a private map of abandoned places across Italy, Portugal, France and Slovenia — derelict villas in Northern Italy and Alsace, faded interiors south of Naples, forgotten estates Portugal has quietly let go of. If you want a portrait session that doesn't look like anyone else's, I'll plan the trip, find the location, time the light and shoot you inside a place that feels like a film set that was real once.
If "Lost Place Sessions" are what brought you here, that work has its own page now → Read about the Lost Places sessions.

HOW IT WORKS

THREE SIMPLE STEPS.

01 - BRIEF

We talk first.
We talk by email or a short call about what you want — the mood, the location, what you'll wear, anything that matters.

02 - SHOOT

Then we make pictures.
60–120 minutes depending on the package. I direct, you breathe, we make pictures that look like you on your favorite day.

03 - DELIVER

Then you choose your favorites.
A private online gallery within 7–14 days. You choose your favorites; I deliver them retouched at full resolution.
“I’m not used to be the model on photos, but with Mario it felt very relaxed and normal.”
— Matthias
“Even if you’re rather inexperienced, how to stand in front of the camera and look at it, Mario has very good tips.”
— Gökhan
“Being photographed by Mario was a sensory experience. In a short time he built a photographic story.”
— Nunzia
